Ashley Gorge - Impromptu Car Run (January 2009)

A balmy Summer's Sunday, saw a well attended group of members enjoy an impromptu car run along the great Lotus driving roads of North Canterbury, under the leadership of Barry - BRM Elan - McFederies (if there is a prettier car on our planet then the author does not know of it).
The gorgeous destination of Ashley Gorge was soon reached, picnics were unpacked, dogs walked and serious Lotus chat engaged in. The prize for the most goodies in a Seven, along with a thanks for his generous sharing of his sumptuous feast, must go to Russell Engelfield.
Simple pleasures concluded, it was time to wend our way homewards through those fantastic foothill roads - yes, one day alone, can warrant the price of our modest Subscription.
