Club Evening at Caddyshack (July 2008)Words & Pictures by S. J. Perry For those out there who may be unaware, Caddyshack is an Indoor Mini-Golf Experience with a difference. Unlike mini-golf courses at typical holiday resorts and amusement parks, Caddyshack have gone to great lengths to 'theme' their various golf holes which include a 'Fire Station' and 'Municipal Airport' courses, a Gondola ride (for your golf ball!) and, yes, even a course that takes you through a spooky Graveyard complete with eerie ghost noises and headstones to impede the straight run to the hole by any keen golfers! A group of around a dozen Club members braved cool Tuesday evening temperatures to try out their Golfing technique at the complete 18 hole course. After splitting up into groups of 4, we started at various holes along the way in order to minimize the delays due to everyone wanting to 'Tee Off' together. Those that started off part way through the course would get to the 17th hole and then complete the un-played earlier holes. The '18th' was left till last by everyone because, on finishing, a player exchanges their golfball for a 'gift prize'. Scores were recorded and tallied at the finish. They ranged from a dismal 99 (your erstwhile scribe - and others!) to a very creditable 77 for the course. Well done everyone! Oh! and the grand 'gift prize' at the end of the game was.....a 'Chupa-Chub' lollypop on a stick! Thanks to George Cottle for organizing a great evenings' entertainment. Take a look at the pictures below - you may be looking at the next Tiger Woods! I have it on good authority from a club member whose initials are HR and who is a keen Golfer, himself, that the word 'GOLF' stands for 'Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden'. | ||
