Tom Cloudesleys Packards & Club BBQ - March 2007

On Sunday 25th March, Tom Cloudesley invited club members around for a close up look at his magnificent Packards. We followed this up with a BBQ and Drinkies. The Packards provide a suitable foil to our Lotus cars – they are huge! Tom provided an entertaining description of his excellent restoration work. The 1927 cream-coloured Straight 6 Packard had been found as a converted tow truck complete with crane on the back. The 1918 red-coloured Twin 6 (actually a V12) had been used for beach racing before being rescued by Tom. During the evening, Tom fired the V12 up for us and it purred like a kitten!
