Southern Lotus Register
Photo Competition - July 2007

“Flash, bang, wallop, what a picture….”

The club decided to run a photo competition to find the best photo featuring a Lotus car or Club members car captured in interesting surroundings. The competition was kindly sponsored by Photo & Video International of Merivale Mall, who not only provided the prizes but supplied the Judge, Matt Nixon, as well!

First Prize, a brand new pair of Pentax Binoculars, was awarded to Erin Oakley who captured on film, her partner, John Snelling, in the typical Lotus Position. Matt considered the photograph to not only be technically excellant, but thought that it captured the Spirit of Lotus motoring in an amusing and creative fashion.

Those comments again reflected Matt's thoughts on 2nd place which went to Derwyn Polanszky and portrayed an amusing study of the trials and tribulations of refueling a Lotus Esprit. The prize was a gift pack of quality cosmetics which we're sure that his partner, Nikki, will enjoy more!

Alan Horsnell won 3rd place - a nice photo album. Alan's photo captured an interesting conflict of scale - his Lotus Seven being positioned under a large earthmoving machine!

As always where there are winners there are losers, all entries were of a high standard and many entrants that missed out could regard themselves as unlucky - such was the overall standard of entry.
